Pink Album cover

This see-through effect on this album cover is very easy to achieve. Once your desired picture has been uploaded, write whatever text you want (I wrote P!NK). Once, the colour and font has been selected it will be visible on your image. However, the text will cover the picture behind the text. To make the text transparent, double-click on the text in the layers bin. A seperate window named 'Layer style' will appear. By changing the Blending mode from normal to multiply, you text will show the image behind it too.

History Brush Tool

I type of editing used in the media is using  bright, bold colours to contrast with black and white. This picture of Angelina Jolie is originally in colour, so to create this effect I changed it so it was black and white. I then selected the 'History Brush Tool' and chose which element of the photo I was going to return to colour. I chose her eyes, earring and the strawberry as these were the most vibrant colours in the picture.

Media Studies- CD cover

CD Covers
 Front cover

For my CD cover project i decided to use a technique that was practised in class, which was using the history tool. I used Google Images to find a picture of an owls, wolfs and leapords face. I then cropped the images so I only had the area around their eyes. I then set the image to Black and white, then using the history tool brush I went over their eyes. I chose these animals as they all have quite striking eye colours. The name of the band and the album are spaced between the pictures. The genre of the band is indie rock and i feel that this portrays that quite well.
Back cover

I've chosen to stick to a simple black background and used a variety of bold colours for the font. I chose to do this as the ablum name is 'colours' and I thought because there was quite a lot happening on the front cover, it would be good to contrast that by having a very plain, simple back cover.
